After peaking over the holiday season, the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be improving in Franklin County as 2021 moves along.
The number of confirmed cases and the number of deaths attributed to the virus in each of the past two weeks were the lowest since they began shooting up about three months ago. Of the more than 10,280 COVID-19 cases reported in Franklin County since March, about 85% of them came after Nov. 1.
There were 322 cases between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6, down from 385 cases from Jan. 24-30, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health s COVID-19 dashboard. The last time there were fewer cases was the week ending on Nov. 7, when 309 cases were reported.
