WASHINGTON – A nonprofit, public-interest law firm and policy center has suggested the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania follow the example of the U.S. Supreme Court, and adopt a proportional cap on the subject of punitive damages.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and legal groups Wednesday urged the U.S. Supreme Court to find a tax law firm's communications are protected by attorney-client privilege, saying a Ninth Circuit ruling to the contrary risks eroding the bedrock legal principle.
