missiles launched from the back of trucks. that means they are mobile. they can be hidden easier and harder to deten because they can be launched on short notice. north koreans are making progress. that said this is not a missile that can reach the united states. not an intercontinental ballistic missile something north koreans are working on and not a nuclear test something they ve done five times before and experts suspected would happen sometime soon. progress being made but not as serious of a test as many expected. reaction from the u.s. to this missile launching was interesting. secretary of state rex tillerson issued this adrupt statement. north korea launched yet another intermediate-range ballistic missile. the united states has spoken enough about north korea. we have no further comment. a lot of people wondering what he means by this. is this way of denying kim jong-un any more oxygen, reaction, headlines after his saber rattling?
have to start thinking also about the outlook towards russia. they have a different outlook. the new administration is much kinder towards russia. that s something else to consider. another front the foreign policy test of north korea, their latest launch and rex tillerson issue as 23 word statement essentially saying, zach, we have no real comment. do we have any real idea what the u.s. posturing might be when they meet with president xi at mar-a-lago? i think they want china to be a part of any sort of solution. china is, of course, the major power in that region and closest to north korea. north korea i think probably wants validation from the united states. those two things are certainly at play. it s interesting that on the one hand on syria you have the traufrp administration
anything about it, it sort of speaks to if you re going to say something you have to put your words behind it. at the same time, you know, if you have chemical weapons killing children throughout the middle east that s a huge problem that, you know, demands world attention. meantime i wouldn t say the trump administration has drawn a red line on north korea but it has sort of changed the tone and changed the language this week on north korea before this launch when it said, you know, hey, you know, we re going to fix this ourselves if china doesn t do it. china has the ability to do this. this is what rex tillerson said. brand new sea change in the language. north korea launched another intermediate-range ballistic missile. united states has spoken enough about north korea. we have no further comment. what does that mean? exactly. i think you can draw from that what you will. is he being intentionally provocative of the north koreans? is he trying frustrate them
