WATERLOO – A bicyclist suffered a brain bleed after being hit by a car in downtown Waterloo on Tuesday.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Interstate 380 when it left the roadway.

Authorities say one person was killed and another person injured when a barn collapsed Saturday in Monroe County, Illinois.

The fire appears to have started in a back porch area.

It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was living in the third-floor apartment where the fire started.

WATERLOO — Following a nearly 90-minute public meeting Wednesday, Town of Waterloo and Grant Township officials verbally agreed to an informal agreement with relation to fire protection.

Abandoned home at 415 East 8th Street caught on fire Friday night. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze and it is under investigation.

The first city council meeting of the year means the dais will be reconfigured.

Two men have been arrested in connection to a shooting in Waterloo last weekend.

The Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department says a man in his 60s tried to put out the fire himself but became overwhelmed by the smoke.
