Rainy weather on Sunday will cause issues throughout the week due to rivers and creeks cresting beyond their banks and causing flooding along multiple roadways in the tri-county area. County engineer offices and sheriff departments issued warnings to drivers throughout the area to beware of high water and "to turn around, dont drown." Culvert replacement to begin on Bates Road Bates Road in Chester Township will be closed for five days between state Route 250 and Smithville Western Road beginning Monday for a culvert replacement projects, according to the Wayne County Engineers Office. The recommended detour is Route 250 to Elyria Road to Smithville Western Road, and reverse. Wayne County road projects The Wayne County Engineerâs Office will service over 135 miles of county roads this year. It also plans to replace nine large culverts. Projects currently disrupting traffic are on Dalton Fox Lake Road and South Elyria Road. Wooster Daily Record BURTON CITY - Orrville Fire Department and EMS, Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol and Wayne County Sheriffs Office responded Tuesday afternoon to a tractor-trailer in a ditch off Burton City Road that was hauling jelly from the J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville. A winter storm struck the area as the work week started with the first wave Monday dropping about an inch of snow in the early morning hours. By mid-morning, most of the roadways were cleared. Folks barely had a break before the second winter blast, which began with spitting snow and swelled into an off-and-on heavier snowfall as the winds picked up when the evening began. The Daily Record WOOSTER â Starting Tuesday, the speed limit on portions of Milltown Road and Sylvan Road was reduced to 45 mph. The speed limits on Milltown Road between Oak Hill and Mechanicsburg Road on the north side of Wooster, and Sylvan Road between Hillcrest and Sylvanâs dead-end on the east side of Wooster changed to 45 mph.
