The James Webb Space Telescope has taken new mid-infrared images of a stunning supernova remnant. These new observations could help scientists answer questions about the origin of cosmic dust, and therefore the origin of stars, planets and life.

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope took this clear image of Uranus, its rings and its moons.

"It opens the door for whats going to be possible in terms of looking at these populations of newborn stars," study lead Megan Reiter says.

Beyond Earth, there are worlds with unique cloud properties. Among them are brown dwarfs where clouds are made up of sand.

NASA has published the very first image that the James Webb Space Telescope has taken using its 18 primary mirror segments.
