Indias foreign exchange reserves decreased by $2.79 billion to $616.14 billion, with foreign currency assets dropping by $2.6 billion to $545.8 billion, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Gold reserves fell by $34 million to $47.2 billion, SDRs decreased by $476 million to $18.2 billion, and reserve position in the IMF decreased by $18 million to $4.85 billion.

Indias foreign exchange reserves dropped by $5.90 billion to reach $617.30 billion for the week ending January 5. The decline followed seven consecutive weeks of rising reserves. Foreign currency assets (FCAs) decreased by $4.97 billion to $546.65 billion, while gold reserves dropped by $839 million to $47.49 billion.
