Travel Guides tops entertainment programs as Nine pips Seven May 20, 2021 11:15 Nine celebrated another nightly win on Wednesday evening, with Travel Guides the top-performing entertainment program. Travel Guides aired to 630,000 metro viewers, helping Nine to a 27.7% network share win, just ahead of Seven’s 26.5%. They were followed by Ten with 19.5% and the ABC with 18.2%. Nine and Seven tied for primary channel share, taking 18.7% a piece. The Travel Guides went sand-boarding on Wednesday night ADVERTISEMENT Travel Guides was the #6 program overall, and just managed to pip ABC’s Hard Quiz, which had 620,000 metro viewers. High-profile primetime programs including Ten’s MasterChef Australia (557,000 metro viewers) and Seven’s Big Brother (539,000 metro viewers) finished outside the top ten programs overall on the evening.

In the same 7:30pm time slot, Ten’s The Cube grew its metro audience week-on-week, jumping to 402,000 after it launched to 567,000 but dropped to 351,000 last week. Last night’s dinner party episode Seven aired two episodes of Border Security to 311,000 metro viewers, and followed it up with The Pembrokeshire Murders at 8:30pm, which had 301,000. The second episode of Nine’s new drama series, Amazing Grace, ran after MAFS at 9pm and fell to 420,000 metro viewers after premiering last week to 504,000.

Meanwhile, the second episode of Ten’s new Andy Lee-fronted game show, The Cube, dropped to 351,000 capital city viewers after premiering to 567,000 last week. The Cube premiered last week That left Ten with a 9.4% channel share and 16.2% network share (helped by 10 Bold’s 3.4% multi-channel win), behind the ABC’s respective 12.3% and 17.9%. The Seven Network finished on 26.9%, and SBS 7%. ADVERTISEMENT Seven pitted Billy Connolly: It’s Been a Pleasure up during prime-time, against MAFS and The Cube. It landed between Nine and Ten’s shows on 433,000 metro viewers, but Seven News was once again on top of the news pile, with 906,000 at 6:30pm and 900,000 for the 6pm time slot. That put both half hours ahead of Nine’s counterparts, which drew 824,000 (at 6:30pm) and 815,000 (at 6pm).
