TGI Fridays closed 36 underperforming locations across the U.S., including 2 in Florida. Eight restaurants were sold, to the company's former CEO.

The company claimed the locations were "underperforming" and shut them down as part of its growth strategy.

Many workers will be given opportunities to transfer to other restaurant locations.
