Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, USACE Commanding General and 55th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers has signed the Okaloosa County, Florida Coastal Storm Risk Management Study Chief’s Report representing the completion of the study and making it eligible for congressional authorization.
In Fort Walton Beach, there are 12 candidates vying for three seats on the city council. The candidates are Nic Allegretto, Gloria DeBerry, Jason Floyd, Sean T. Murphy, Debra Riley, Brad Roehrig, Michael Rojas, David Schmidt, Travis Smith, Gareth A. Stearns, Sonya Lynn Vazquez and T. Payne Walker.
Laurel Hill voters also will see the following referendum on the ballot: Shall the City of Laurel Hill, Florida be dissolved, and its charter revoked? The ordinance provides for the adoption of a dissolution plan within 90 days of the approval of the ordinance by the voters and includes provisions for the equitable treatment of employees, transfer of assets, and the assumption of debt by Okaloosa County, among other things.
