STIRLING Council has urged people to abide by coronavirus restrictions and stay local as a popular destination in the heart of the Trossachs saw a surge of visitors early this morning. The car park at Ben A’an was close to capacity at 9.30am, prompting the council to plead with people to stay close to home. About an hour later, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs announced further locations had been hit by a surge in visitors. Arrochar, Ben Ledi, Ben Venue, Inveruglas and Loch Lubnaig car parks all have very few, or no spaces left, they said. Yesterday Scotland’s “stay at home” rule was lifted and changed to “stay local”. People living in mainland Scotland should not leave their local authority area except for essential purposes.
Hunt for man who assaulted woman on cycle path and tried to steal her dog

Police are hunting a man who assaulted a woman and tried to steal her dog as she walked on a cycle path.
The incident happened on the path near to Woodyard Road, opposite the flats at West Bridgend, in Dumbarton at around 11.30am on Sunday.
The man came up behind the 31-year-old woman and attacked her but she managed to get away and made her way home, where she contacted the police.

A 36-year-old man has been charged after police seized cocaine valued at £3.8 million in Clydebank and Glasgow.
Officers stopped a vehicle on the M74 north at around 7.15pm on Friday.
Police later searched three properties in the Auchinleck Terrace and Concho Road areas of Clydebank, and Bearsden Road, Glasgow.
The 36-year-old is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday.
