In response to recent adverse weather conditions, Fort Cavazos officials have closed the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area until further notice, according to a news release on Thursday.
A prescribed burn has been scheduled for Monday on Fort Cavazos, contingent on weather conditions, according to officials the DPW Natural and Cultural Resources Management Branch.
Area residents may notice smoke and increased air traffic for the next couple of weeks — especially near Belton Lake — but that is likely to be Fort Cavazos soldiers
The III Armored Corps is preparing to participate in Remagen Ready Oct. 27 to Nov. 9. Remagen Ready will be the largest training exercise conducted on the installation since 2020.
