AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Two Akron DoorDash drivers were carjacked at gunpoint, and police believe the crimes could be connected to a string of carjackings in Cleveland.
âThey were young kids,â one victim told the 911 operator. âThey had guns. They had big like semi-automatic type of guns.â
At around 9 P.M. on Monday, a 50-year-old Akron woman says she was parked outside her home on Herberich Avenue waiting for her husband. She said she had been delivering DoorDash orders earlier that night.

AKRON, Ohio A man had his vehicle stolen at gunpoint near an intersection just south of downtown last weekend, according to police.
The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of West Thornton Street and Dart Avenue. The 23-year-old driver tells police a black sedan pulled up next to his 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and pinned his car in, preventing him from moving forward.
Two armed males then got out of the sedan and order the victim out of his Camaro, police say. They ordered the man to the ground, took his money, then drove off with his vehicle.
