An active investigation is underway in Meriden after a man was shot during a confrontation with officers, according to police. Meriden police said Kenneth Struthers, 24, was wanted by West Hartford police for an active arrest warrant related to armed robbery charges. West Hartford police asked for assistance in arresting Struthers at the Flamingo Inn on North Broad Street at 8:50 a.m. Friday, said Meriden police Capt. John Mennone. Mennone said while police were setting up a perimeter, Struthers attempted to leave the scene. A foot pursuit ensued involving officers from both the West Hartford Police Department and the Meriden Police Department, Mennone said. After a brief foot pursuit, a confrontation occurred resulting in Struthers being shot.
