GOAL: Longo winner against Perth in Round 12 keeps Victory form rolling ahead of Big Blue
Canberra United, meanwhile, travel to face Newcastle Jets at No. 2 Sportsground (kick-off 6.35pm AEDT) with the hopes of securing a win to climb back into the top four.
The Green Machine trail Adelaide United in fourth by one point, but have a game in hand on the Reds.
A win over the Jets would heap the pressure on Adelaide to secure three points against Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, March 21 - their last game of the season - to set Canberra the task of overtaking them once more in their final game of the season in Round 14.

Delving into DMC: More than ‘dates on a calendar’
For the first time in its history, Football Australia has unveiled a Domestic Match Calendar (DMC) – and its main architect believes it could be a game changer.
Developed in line with the XI Principles for the future of Australian football, the DMC aims to connect all tiers domestically, and the game globally, by harmonising key dates in the domestic football schedule with FIFA’s International Match Calendar, and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) competition dates. It also sets out plans for domestic registration periods or transfer windows.
Football Australia CEO, James Johnson, unveiled the DMC last month after a lengthy process that was led by Trevor Morgan – the governing body’s Technical Director. In announcing the DMC, Football Australia recognised that 2021 will be a transition year, and that it expects to achieve even greater alignment in 2022 “as COVID-19 eases” and the game considers insights from 2021.

National Premier Leagues set to kick-off in NSW and Victoria tonight
The National Premier Leagues (NPL) returns for 2021 this weekend with New South Wales and Victoria both kicking off their respective men’s competitions tonight.
Four games will take place this evening, with Manly United and Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC scheduled as the first clash of 2021. Kick-off at Cromer Park on the Northern Beaches will be at 7:00pm, with Marconi Stallions FC taking on Sydney FC at Marconi Stadium 45 minutes later.
Each round 1 NPL NSW Men’s match will observe a minutes’ silence to pay respect to Idriss El-Hafiane, the former Rockdale Ilinden star who tragically passed away recently. Rockdale Ilinden will also be hosting a special tribute to El-Hafiane prior to their round 1 clash against Wollongong Wolves at Ilinden Sports Centre.

If you want proof of the burgeoning status of women’s football and the Westfield W-League in Australia, cast your eyes down the ladder – of the A-League.
In a season that has already created history with the simultaneous kick-off of the A-League and Westfield W-League competitions, the latter is having an unprecedented impact on the men’s game – something many predict will only increase with the Women’s World Cup on its way in 2023.
A-League leaders Central Coast Mariners are coached by Alen Stajcic who made his name as a top-flight coach in the women’s game, headlined by his dominant Sydney FC Westfield W-League stint and a successful five-year spell as Westfield Matildas coach.

IRISH INTERNATIONAL JULIE-ANN Russell scored her first goal in the Australian top-flight earlier today, her first-half effort turning out to be match-winner for Western Sydney Wanderers in their 1-0 Westfield W-League victory over Perth Glory.
Russell’s goal, which came on the brink of half time, ended a five-game winless run for her side and kept their final hopes alive after downing the league’s bottom-placed side.
