In a rare move - Northland Police have called for the Google account of a sex offender to be destroyed 9 July 2021
The man was jailed for more than seven years in Whangarei High Court last month for charges involving a 15-year-old girl.
The 36-year-old sold the teenager for sex via an online ad - and shared videos he filmed of the encounters on WhatsApp.
A judge told prosecutors a formal application would be required to have the offender's Google account deactivated.
Issues renewing its Bay of Islands hotel ground lease led to the action.
NZX-listed hotelier Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand has filed for an interim injunction against the Waitangi National Trust Board over renewal of its Bay of Islands hotel ground lease.
It filed the documents in the Whangarei High Court earlier today in respect of the renewal of the lease for the land on which the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Bay of Islands is situated.
In a release to the NZX it didn’t say what aspect of the renewal was in dispute.
