Damning part of last weeks buzzfeed report, which says that michael cohen will testify that donald trump urged him to lie under oath in his first round of testimony with congress. now, special prosecutors office on friday issued a statement saying that at least part of the buzzfeed article is not accurate. here is what rudy giuliani said on sunday when he was asked if the president spoke to michael cohen before michael cohen testified to congress. >> as far as i know, president trump did not hav...

We saw yesterday, and one of the things thats interesting about it is this could have been treated in the trump team and in the giuliani approach to tv this weekend as a kind of triumphant turn of, look, the special prosecutor has said buzzfeeds wrong, and just stomp on that and leave it at that, but within that, rudy giuliani decided, and the team must have decided, actually this is a good time to also throw out there whats going to eventually emerge, which is donald trump has answered in writi...

Now back -- giuliani wants us to forget we ever heard that, forget we ever heard from donald trumps mouth "from the day i announced to the day i won." and so the method that giuliani is employing here risks -- apparently risks madness at every moment. >> yeah, so i did my best, lawrence, to try to come up with some kind of a theory that was reasonable and rational for why giuliani was trying to draw the sting, but then as you note, he takes that stinger and reinserts it into his own arm. so its ...

Written answer. and rudy giulianis tour of the sunday morning shows, he was, of course, asked about the most damning part of last weeks buzzfeed report, which says that michael cohen will testify that donald trump urged him to lie under oath in his first round of testimony with congress. now, special prosecutors office on friday issued a statement saying that at least part of the buzzfeed article is not accurate. here is what rudy giuliani said on sunday when he was asked if the president spoke ...

Office for correcting the false story that president trump encouraged cohen to lie. i asked the press to take heed that their hysterical desire to destroy this president has gone too far. they pursued this without critical analysis all day, and i think you know from when we were covering this last night and today, one of the difficult things about this story is other news outlets, including cnn, were not able to confirm the details of this, and cnn never independently corroborated this, and we s...

This is "cnn tonight," im don lemon. here is the breaking news. a rare and stunning move from the special counsel tonight. robert muellers team disputing an explosive buzzfeed report alleging the president told michael cohen to lie to congress. the special counsels office releasing a statement saying quote buzzfeeds description of specific statements to the special counsels office and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by the office regarding michael cohens congressional testim...

Tried to cover up his meetings with vladimir putin from his own aides, there was no denial of the fact that paul manafort shared polling data with somebody who was linked to russian intelligence. i mean all these stories that come out that are highly damning of the president suggesting that there was collusion and of course we have also seen obstruction of justice occur in plain sight. all that stuff is still out there. i mean this one story may be and probably is wrong, but theres a lot of damn...

Counsel. >> buzzfeed is standing by its reporters and story tonight. what else are they saying? >> they are standing by their reporters and story, and anyone can sympathize how you would not want to be in this position as a reporter. ben smith, the editor in chief was on cnn earlier, he said he would like to get more information from the special counsels office about what exactly they take issue with. heres how he described it. >> they are clearly referring to something and we hope they will tel...

Spokesperson for the special counsel. so you think if the entire thing, and we dont know here, if the entire thing, we just say this story is wrong, do you think that or this story is just completely inaccurate. >> the denial is a little bit opaque. thats my interpretation based on what im able to piece together. >> i want to bring you in susan, buzzfeed standing by their reporting and their sources, give me your takeaway. >> well, look, it is very serious allegation to have made and now to have...

Accordance with donald trumps directives but he wasnt saying that donald trump personally told him to lie which was what the buzzfeed article was saying. my supposition is what muellers office is disputing that they dont have evidence that donald trump personally told michael cohen to lie. it sounds like there was coordination of the lie between michael cohen and donald trumps team so thats not quite as damming as what buzzfeed was reporting. that is still fairly damning because it suggests that...
