Trappers Head Into All-Star Break With Win

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Jul 18, 2021 | 8:38 PM GRAND FORKS, ND – Nick Strong and Garret Hill each doubled and drove in two runs Sunday as the Pierre Trappers stopped the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 7-3 at Kraft Field in the final game before the Expedition League’s All-Star break. Strong hit his two-run double and Hill followed with an RBI double to snap a 1-1 tie in the top of the third and give the Trappers (14-32) a lead they would not relinquish. Brandt Sundeen (1-3) struck out nine in seven innings while allowing three runs and six hits. The Expedition League All-Star Game will be played Tuesday at Mike Lansing Field in Casper, Wyoming.  The Trappers will next play Thursday against the Mining City Tommyknockers in Butte, Montana.

8-Run 1st Inning Sends Wheat City Past Trappers

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Jul 17, 2021 | 10:08 PM GRAND FORKS, ND – An eight-run first inning started the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks on their way to a 13-7 win over the Pierre Trappers Saturday at Kraft Field. Wheat City had just three hits in the big first inning, which was capped by a three-run home run by Garrett Olson.  Trappers’ starter Mason Torve (1-3) faced seven batters and retired none, allowing seven runs, two hits and five walks. Tyler Skelton drove in two runs for the Trappers (13-32).  Nick Strong had three hits.
