Carolyn LaVerne Norquist passed away peacefully at her residence in a care facility in Park Rapids, MN, on June 17th, 2022, after a long battle with dementia. On February 15, 1944, Carolyn was born to Howard and Carol Schulz in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from high school in Hopkins, MN. On June 11th, 1977, she married her husband, Emery, in his hometown of Roseau, MN. Carolyn worked for Loeffel Ingstrand construction company in Hopkins in payroll for many years. In 1989 they fulfilled their dreams of moving out of the twin cities area and owning a resort, buying Whispering Pines Resort on West Crooked Lake in Nevis. Carolyn took pride in their business and was instrumental in its success. They sold it in 1997 and built a home on the same lake. Carolyn also worked for the Nevis School transportation department as a bus dispatcher. Carolyn loved living on the lake and animals; dogs especially. She also loved music. She was a very gifted pianist despite often being too shy to show off
