No timeline set for when Shelby County could receive more doses of the vaccine

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - More than 24,000 people in Shelby County have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine. The Shelby County Health Department said it will soon be out of its current allotment.
Shelby County received more than 12,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine.
This week workers have taken the vaccines to long-term care facilities, but by Wednesday afternoon SCHD Director Dr. Alisa Haushalter said the last doses were being used with no timeline on when the county could get more.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Doses of the countyâs second COVID-19 vaccine, this one from Moderna, continue to be shipped from the Mid-South across the United States. The Tennessee Department of Health said the state has received thousands of doses, with the first administered this afternoon.
Those Moderna vaccines are expected to go to local health departments, long-term care facilities and hospitals that didnât get the Pfizer vaccine. The Shelby County Health Department expects the shipment by Wednesday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - According to the state’s vaccine distribution plan, residents and staff at long-term care facilities are part of the first round of vaccines. At one Whitehaven facility, the vaccine could be there in just a couple of days.
Leaders at Whitehaven Community Living Center said the Pfizer vaccine could be there as early as Wednesday. The same goes for its sister facilities in Dyersburg and Ripley.
