A Denver man was sentenced Tuesday to 16 months in federal prison for defrauding a Wichita Falls oil and gas company, according to Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Prerak Shah.
Daren Scot Elliott, 55, pleaded guilty to wire fraud in April, admitting he ripped off a Wichita Falls company with a propane tank scheme in May 2016, according to court records.
U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman sentenced Elliott, owner of Duquesne Energy Services, on Tuesday in Wichita Falls, according to court records.
Pittman also ordered Elliott to pay $32,000 in restitution and $20,000 in fines, according to a media release from Shah s office.
