Wick was left without scheduled air services after the loss of the Edinburgh and Aberdeen routes last year.
Liberal Democrats in the north are calling for more clarity on the issue of a public service obligation (PSO) to protect Caithness air services.
Jamie Stone, the MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross, and the party s Holyrood hopeful Molly Nolan criticised the Scottish Government for not committing to a PSO for Wick John O Groats Airport in Thursday s budget.
