The council will, however, have a first reading of an ordinance to rezone property for up to 289 new apartments in Inverness.

The new proposal would include up to $30 million in tax rebates and puts a performing arts center back on the table.

The proposal, still being negotiated with the city, includes 11 acres for the city to build a performing arts center, plus a Golf Suites tiered golf range, surgery center, medical office space, and retail and dining space.

The goal is to have the amphitheater and arts and entertainment area ready for events by the fall of 2023.
