Illegally taken in 1974 from Aboriginal lands, Mungo Man, Mungo Lady and 106 others from 40,000 years ago are to be properly reburied in their homeland.
MORE than 40,000 years after they walked the shores of what we now call the Willandra Lakes, and decades since their bones were uncovered in landmark architectural discoveries, Mungo Man and Mungo Lady will be returned to their eternal rest in the sands of outback NSW.
