79-year-old Navy veteran earns high school diploma

SALISBURY, Md. – It was a very touching moment Tuesday night as Wicomico County Superintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin conferred a high school diploma to a 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran.
William Stier joined the Navy in 1959 after completing his junior year at Wicomico High School. His military service prevented him from earning his diploma at the time.
