A Look Back: From the Gazette Archive 50 Years Ago ■Attorney William Stringfellow and poet Anthony Towne have acknowledged they did “offer and give sustenance and lodging” to the Rev. Daniel Berrigan while he was being sought by federal authorities. Berrigan was convicted in April of destroying draft records and was arrested on Block Island in a house owned by Stringfellow and Towne.
