Clemson, SC Andrew Swanson shot a one-under-par 71 and finished in third place to lead Clemson to a seventh place team finish at the UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Intercollegiate on Monday. The 17-team tournament was played at the Golf Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC.Clemson had a team score of 286 on Monday, the third consecutive under-par team round for the Tigers who finished the 54 hole event at eight under par 856. TCU won the tournament with a score of 21-under-par 843 and Wright State finished second at 844.Swanson’s third place finish was his second top three finish of the year. In November he won the Ka’anapali Classic in Hawaii. Swanson finished this event with a score of 207, nine under par, after rounds of 70-66-71. He finished the tournament with 15 birdies and had the third best scoring average on par four (3.90) and par five (4.25) holes. Fresh off its best performance of the spring, the Clemson men’s golf team returns to the course on Sunday to compete in the UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C. The Tigers will be one of 18 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament held Sunday and Monday, March 26-27.The field includes ACC teams Clemson and Duke, Big 10 teams Maryland and Nebraska, and Big 12 team TCU.Clemson finished fourth out of 16 teams at the Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course in Eatonton, Ga.last Tuesday. The Tigers shot seven-under-par 281 in the final round to finish with a three-over-par 867 score.It was the third top four finish for the Tigers this year, as they look to host the NCAA Regional Tournament at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls Course in May.Four of the players who helped the Tigers to that fourth-place finish at the Linger Longer will be in the lineup at UNC Wilmington. The group includes Kian Rose,
