Council’s development and heritage standing committee voted unanimously Monday to recommend the project, which requires a zone change to convert seven single-family residential lots on the northeast corner of Dominion Boulevard and Northwood Street into a single property for the five buildings with six units each. Residents living near the area initially launched a petition opposing the plan, but at an open house hosted by the Windsor Islamic Association and its representatives on Saturday, many concerns were allayed, resident Catherine Stewart told the committee.
