Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial High School Corpus Christi ISD took time to honor some of the best teachers in the district.
The event that took place was the annual teacher of the year celebration. This year’s honorees were 5th grade teacher Rachel Beavers from Windsor Park Elementary who has been teaching for the last 17 years and the secondary teacher of the year went to Luis White a 7 year veteran from Moody High School who teaches history and is also the girl’s head soccer coach.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Through the doors of Moody High School, educators are hard at work teaching the next generation of thinkers, entrepreneurs and heroes. It takes a spirited teacher to leave a lasting impression on a student.
âSheâs really involved in what she does and I would like to be involved in what I do in college,â said student, Penelope Alaniz.
âSheâs a good coach and I know I can always count on her,â said student America Briones.

Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez announced this years winners of the elementary and secondary Teacher of the Year awards.
The ceremony took place at Veterans Memorial High School.
