The workers called 911 and reported they had been threatened. Responding police tried to calm the man, but the chief says nothing seemed to work. This is certainly something that we believe could have been prevented. We tried to get the guy out for almost an hour and a half, peacefully, so we could resolve it. Dan finally, at about 11 30 a. M. , police say the man came out of the house with a gun, threatening the officers who had secured the area. The chief says an officer fired one shot. That s all it took. The gunman never fired.
