The Telecommunications Bill, 2023, was introduced by Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw amid protests by opposition parties.

Among those suspended are K Jayakumar, Vijay Vasanth, and Abdul Khaleque. This move comes shortly after the suspension of 13 MPs, including nine from the Congress, who were penalized for displaying banners and engaging in disruptive behavior in the House.

Thirty-three opposition MPs have been suspended from the Lok Sabha for disrupting proceedings, including Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, DMK MPs T R Baalu and Dayanidhi Maran, and TMCs Saugata Roy. 31 were suspended for the Winter Session, while three were suspended pending the Privileges Committees report.
