ONLINE: Iva UgrÄiÄ & Satoko Hayami Feb 21, 2021 12:00 PM Flutist Iva UgrÄiÄ performs internationally and founded the Madison-based LunART Festival. Flutist Iva UgrÄiÄ has performed around the world as a soloist and ensemble member, and came to Madison to earn a doctoral degree in flute performance at UW-Madison. In addition to founding the LunART Festival, UgrÄiÄ has performed with various regional ensembles and currently is a member of Black Marigold Wind Quintet and Sound Out Loud. Pianist Satoko Hayami has also performed and taught piano around the world, and is a current UW doctoral candidate. The duo plays works by Valerie Coleman, AndrÃ© Jolivet and Carl Reinecke during this livestream as part of the Wisconsin Union Theater s new Wisconsin Sound Series, featuring Madison-area performers. ONLINE: Johannes Wallmann Quintet press release: Johannes Wallmann is a pianist and composer, recording artist on Fresh Sound New Talent Records and Shifting Paradigm Records, and the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.Â Born 1974 in Germany, Johannes Wallmann was raised on Canada s Vancouver Island. He studied jazz piano and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston (B.Mus., 1995) and at New York University (M.A., 1997; Ph.D., 2010), while winning numerous national music competitions and scholarships, as well as two Canada Council artist grants. After moving to New York City in 1995, he quickly established himself as a versatile and in-demand sideman in a wide-range of musical styles.
