This week in Reading The Wheel of Time, we’re picking up in the middle of Chapter 44. Rand’s observation tower has just been lightninged out of existence as part of the Forsaken’s ongoing attempt to spring the Sammael trap, and Rand, Aviendha, and Egwene have ridden off in search of a new view of the battle, despite all three being quite a bit worn out and worse for wear. You know, I didn’t mention this last week, but I keep thinking about how lucky Rand is that he had them to stop him ...

Welcome back once again to Reading The Wheel of Time! We have finally come to the climactic climax at Cairhien (how’s that for alliteration?) which means a lot of choices that people have been struggling with. Mat has to confront what his leaving Rand means for the fight. Egwene and Aviendha have to honor their commitment to using the One Power in battle, despite the rules that govern both Aes Sedai and Wise Ones. And Rand has to face the consequences at the end of the road Couladin’s usurp...

A Timeline of Our Glorious Leader’s Time as Vice-Chancellor It was a Friday afternoon that no human alive will ever forget. 19 March 2021, the day that Great and Glorious Vice-Chancellor Doctor Professor Vada Harlene Hayne ONZM BA MS PhD left our beloved University. Temperatures plunged as the Sun hid its face in sorrow. Angels wept in the skies up above. That Friday night, alcohol poisonings spiked as students, distraught by the tragic news, drowned their sorrows in toasts to our Outstanding...

What are the top ASX tech stocks? Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about the biggest tech stocks in Australia. This week in Reading the Wheel of Time, we’ll be covering Chapters 24 and 25. Egwene discovers Nynaeve and Elayne’s secret, we learn a little more about how Tel’aran’rhiod works, and find out that Moghedien, unsurprisingly, is as close as we feared. But first, let’s recap! The land grows less hilly and more verdant as Rand and his followers pass further into Cairhien, the sun dropping lower as the Aiel marvel over the landscape, but Egwene notes that they adapt quickly, and that thei...

This week in Reading the Wheel of Time, it’s adventures with Draghkar and suspicious Maidens. I’m not sure I trust Melindhra as far as Mat could throw her, and Sammael—possibly several Forsaken—is up to something. Also, what’s with all the comments about short guys? Short guys are great. Chapter 22 opens with Mat in his tent, getting a massage from Melindhra. She remarks that he is well-muscled for a short man, prompting Mat into disgruntled musings about how he’s only short by Aiel...

Hours? >> no victor, id say theres no plausible iranian strategy for months. you got bolton and pompeo on one hand talking about regime change. thats a pretty big ask, pretty big demand. then you got the president who simply talks about getting the iranians back to the table. thats part of a big problem that we saw play out in miniature and realtime in the last 24 hours, its that theres no cohesive policy towards iran and where they want to go in terms of a strategic end game. i think thats comp...
