Police say no cases reported; advice villagers to be vigilant Our Correspondent Diphu, Sep. 29 (EMN): With rumours doing the rounds that child lifters were larking in Karbi Anglong for some weeks, the Women Justice & Forum (KAWJF) organised a press conference to spread awareness about human trafficking among the people of the area. President of KAWJF, Beulet Beypi, advised the parents to take good care of their children. She said that one should inform the police if any strangers are seen suspiciously loitering around while saying that the one should not take law into one’s own hands but catch hold of the person and hand over to the nearest police station. She urged the parents and guardians to take care of their children and be aware of their whereabouts as such trafficking incidents occur more in rural areas. Meanwhile, the O/C of Diphu Police Station, JS Khubung said that no cases on child lifting has been reported though rumours have been circulated on social media platforms
