Blues boss Paul Lambert hailed his team’s first half display as “absolutely brilliant” and felt that they would have beaten Sunderland but for the error which led to the Black Cats’ second-half equaliser as the game ended 1-1.
Notts County 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
Tuesday, 23rd Jul 2019 21:40 by Darren Campbell
Town fought back from a goal behind to draw 1-1 in their pre-season friendly at Notts County. The hosts took the lead shortly before half-time through Nathan Tyson, then Kayden Jackson hit back midway through the second half to ensure it ended honours even at Meadow Lane but the game was marred for the Blues by the loss of Tristan Nydam to what looked a serious injury.
As announced prior to the trip to the East Midlands, Paul Lambert named a much-changed line-up from that which started last week’s 5-0 victory over Colchester United.

I do wonder if Cook will give the players from tonight a chance to redeem themselves. I also wondered whether we could try Woolfenden in the Downes role but does that sniff of desperation?
Possibly, but then the normal potential options just aren t doing enough so it s worth a go imo. Wolfy can certainly break play up, get forward with the ball and he s got that ability to send over the diag long ball too. I have been shocked he s not been seen as he seems an ideal Cook player.
