A billionaire's advice to young Indians has sparked a conversation on healthy versus toxic work culture.

Recently, Narayana Murthy called upon the youth of the country to work for more than 70 hours to ensure the countrys development. Long work hours can be physically demanding and lead to various health issues, share doctors, highlighting the importance of maintaining work-life balance.

Earlier, Narayana Murthy emphasised the need for extended work hours to elevate Indias productivity, citing the countrys relatively low ranking globally. He urged the younger generation to put in the extra effort, much like Japan and Germany did after World War II to compete with economic powerhouses like China.

Narayana Murthy said on a podcast with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai that the youngsters have to work 12 hours a day for the country to catch up with economies that have seen tremendous progress in the past 2-3 decades.
