A staffing and recruiting firm in the region hired a new vice president of finance and administration.
WSI Workforce Strategies Inc. said last week that it hired Sarah Hoffman for the role.
Hoffman will be joining WSI’s corporate team, based in Kalamazoo, to focus on implementing new initiatives to help achieve financial and operational excellence branchwide.
“We’re fortunate to be welcoming Sarah to the team,” said Jeff O’Brien, WSI president and CEO. “Her extensive background in finance will be a proven asset to our company as a whole. We’re looking forward to utilizing her strategic solutions for corporate operations and financial affairs.”

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. â Workforce Strategies, Inc. says they are holding a hiring event at DENSO Manufacturing.
They tell us DENSO has open positions on first and second shift for warehouse and assembly employees, adding that wages start at $15 to $16.25 an hour.
âWhatâs unique about our partnership with DENSO is that WSI has an onsite presence at their manufacturing facility,â says WSI Onsite Account Manager Ashley Wertz. âBy being onsite regularly, weâre able to minimize the growing pains that are bound to come with being a new employee. Iâm here to coach, counsel, and assist all of our DENSO associates with any questions or concerns they may have.â

A staffing and recruitment firm in West Michigan will host companywide open interviews across participating branches this month.
WSI Workforce Strategies Inc. said it will host the interviews from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at its branches in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and Sturgis, along with locations in Ohio and Indiana.
Candidates are needed for hundreds of full- and part-time positions in manufacturing, general labor, warehouse, production and more.
“Our last companywide open interviews were such a great success that we will now be hosting hiring events monthly,” said Erica Bohms-Coon, WSI director of staffing operations. “This gives job seekers the ability to plan ahead and schedule time to stop by our offices.”
