Bloomberg Philanthropies announced the launch of the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ City Data Alliance, a program that will identify 100 cities from across North and South America that are the most sophisticated at using data to make policy decisions and propel them to an even higher standard with executive education, direct-to-city coaching, and a focused investment to improve a critical data capacity.

(July 16, 2021) The City of San José’s commitment to being at the forefront of data-driven governance and innovation has been recognized for the second consecutive year by achieving the 2021 What Works Cities Silver Certification. The What Works Cities Certification evaluates how well cities are managed by measuring the extent to which city leaders incorporate data and evidence in their decision-making. What Works Cities is a national initiative launched by Bloomberg Philanthropies to help cities use data and evidence more effectively to tackle their most pressing challenges. The City was previously recognized with the 2020 What Works Cities Silver Certification.
