World Lacrosse promotes Kenya and Philippines to full membership
World Lacrosse has promoted Kenya and the Philippines to full members of the governing body.
Both the Kenya Lacrosse Association and the Philippines Lacrosse Association will now be able to send a voting delegate to the World Lacrosse General Assembly.
National sides from each country will also be eligible to progress to the championship bracket at World Championship events, meaning they will be able to battle for medals.
The decision to promote both countries was recommended by the World Lacrosse Development Committee.
Kenya becomes the second full member from Africa after Uganda.
Costa Rica gains full World Lacrosse membership Saturday, 13 March 2021
World Lacrosse has elevated the Costa Rica Lacrosse Sporting Federation to full membership of the global governing body.
The World Lacrosse Development Committee recommended that Costa Rica s membership be upgraded, and the Board of Directors unanimously approved the motion.
It means that Costa Rica can have a voting delegate at the Word Lacrosse General Assembly, and its national teams are eligible to win World Championships.
Walter Rojas, President of the Costa Rica Lacrosse Sporting Federation, said the development represents a great leap to lacrosse in Costa Rica and is a recognition of the very hard work of our administrative team and players alike.
