One of Pathfinder’s Books of the Month for January is the French edition of We Are Heirs of the World’s Revolutions: Speeches from the Burkina Faso Revolution 1983-87 by Thomas Sankara. In August 1983 a popular revolutionary government arose from an uprising led by Sankara in the former French colony of Upper Volta. He organized workers, peasants, women and youth to take control over their own destiny in one of the poorest countries on the planet. When he addressed the United Nations General
