Adia Onyango made a splash in her first month of eligibility for the Senior Women’s (50+) Invitational rating list. Onyango, who turned 50 in January, debuts at number ten on the updated-monthly lists tracking eligible players for national invitational events.
Hans-Joachim Hecht, a Grandmaster since 1973, was a member of the successful German national team in the 1960s and 1970s, became German team champion eight times with his clubs SG Solingen and Bayern Munich and won the European Cup once. The third round of the FIDE World Senior Team Championship featured a number of exciting clashes between some of the favourites to take home first place.
