DEAR ABBY: I have been with my wife, "Sandy," for 40 years. We married as soon as it became possible for us as a gay couple. While our relationship isnt perfect, we are deeply committed and I always assumed we shared the same values.

DEAR ABBY: With no discussion, my husband decided to retire two years ago. He said he would just take Social Security and wed be fine. He failed to take into account that he was underage for Medicare, and all of his dental and medical bills would become my responsibility since Im still working. Luckily, I convinced him to leave SS alone, and to roll his 401(k) into an IRA.

DEAR ABBY: I was just released from the hospital, and I suspect my husband is tapping his foot waiting for me to fix him lunch. He isnt doing or saying anything overt, like "Get up and make me lunch," but its more like he is whining about the options in front of him -- peanut butter, frozen leftovers, etc.

DEAR ABBY: My husband died three years ago, and I met someone shortly after. This man is kind and loving, and he treats me well. He happily moved with me to another state to be near my family. Im 67, and he is 63. Im retired, and hopefully have enough to live on for the rest of my life, although as everyone knows, anything can happen.

DEAR ABBY: I am struggling with an invisible illness and losing patience with friends, family and acquaintances. Im working with doctors to manage my conditions, and Im tired of all the suggestions and seemingly positive comments Im hearing, like, "You can do it; just put your mind to it!"

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I were married nine years. He unexpectedly left me when COVID first hit. We were apart for a year and eight months and ended up divorcing. I filed because, even though I didnt want to believe it, I eventually accepted that it was over. Even though he hadnt actually filed the papers, he had taken all other necessary steps. It was the first time in my life I had ever felt this level of heartbreak.

DEAR ABBY: The other day I went to the pool in my neighborhood and found there were four lounge chairs with towels on them indicating they were "reserved." They are the best chairs in the pool area because they are covered by a small roof and protected from the sun. I then had to use another chair that only partially covered me.

DEAR ABBY: I have been dating a wonderful man for two years. He has two grown children, 27 and 21. Both have good jobs and work full time. I have a son who is 12. The issue is family vacations, and paying for things while on vacation.

DEAR ABBY: I want to thank you for a letter you published in 2007. It came from a woman saying her daughter had "convergence insufficiency disorder," in which the eye drifts and causes double vision. I was 61 and had that problem, but I never knew what it was.

DEAR ABBY: My best friend, "Laura," had an affair with a married man for 20 years. He had been married twice before, and both wives died. Hes only 50, so I find it odd that both of his previous wives died. His second wife passed while Laura was his mistress. She is able to be married to him only because of his second wifes death -- he was never going to leave her.
