The city of Uji in Kyoto has been famed for tea for more than eight centuries, but much has been lost in the depths of that time. Now a group of locals are working to revive Asahien, one of Uji’s seven famed tea farms of the past, with plants discovered on the grounds of a city temple.
The first phase of the Lagos light rail red line in Nigeria, built by a Chinese enterprise, is open to traffic. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the project and took a trial ride on the light rail train. This project is the second light rail implemented by China Civil Engineering Construction in Lagos after the Blue Line. The total length of the line is about 26.5 kilometers, with 2 kilometers of new lines and 8 stations along the line. All of which adopt Chinese technical standards.
