The development is said to have been triggered by the recent decision of NARTO to stop petroleum loading activities.

A car owner, Kelvin Ode, told PREMIUM TIMES that the return of fuel queues in Abuja was likely as a result of the just concluded election.

"At this time, this is unbearable. People are suffering and the election is next month," a Nigerian lamented.

Petrol queues have refused to disappear in the federal capital and officials have given different reasons for the problem.

In several parts of the city, motorists struggled to buy petrol while many filling stations were closed.
