Chchch of america have written letter asking governor branstad to change his stance on refugees. They say its our duty as iowans and christians to welcome people who are experiencing terrorism in theirown country. The letter rds in part we arar not naive about possible new threats of terrorism, but denying refuge to thousands of desperate people is not who we are as christians, nor will ituarantee cur security. It goes on to say iowans haveea long history of settling refugees, including those from syria. And not allowing any refugees into iowa is only feeding the problem. Iowa has too many roads for future needs. That assessment comes from department of transportation director paul trombinin. Trombino says the current Transportation System will shrink. Travel is changing over time and so will the number of roads, bridges and rails. Trombino doesnt believe iowa can afford to road miles and 25thousand bridges. He says iowans are shifting towards the use of high priority traveling out of the state with their products. Transportation leaders arent rebuilding roads that arent used any more.
