NYU Langone Joseph DiMeo, 22, is the first-ever recipient of a successful double-hand and face transplant.  DiMeo suffered 3rd-degree burns on 80% of his body after a stranger pulled him from a fiery car.  DiMeo and his surgeon, NYU s Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez, spoke publicly for the first time Wednesday.  Joseph DiMeo was driving home from a night shift as a product tester in July 2018 when the 22-year-old fell asleep at the wheel. The car hit a curb and utility pole, flipped over, and erupted into flames.
