Intel-powered Aurora Supercomputer has failed to reach Exaflop performance, beaten by the AMD Frontier in the Exascale race.

Intel has released new CPU microcode this morning for mitigating a new CPU security vulnerability (INTEL-SA-00950)

Intel provided a slew of updates on its latest HPC and AI initiatives, including new information about its Granite Rapids Xeon CPUs, Max Series GPUs benchmarks against Nvidias H100 GPUs, Guadi accelerators, and the companys work on the genAI 1-trillion-parameter AI model that runs on the Aurora supercomputer.

SC23 After years of delays, Argonne National Laboratory's all-Intel "Aurora" supercomputer has finally graced the Top500 ranking of the world's most powerful…

Intel has unveiled the performance and internal projections of its upcoming 5th Gen Emerald Rapids & next-gen Granite Rapids Xeon CPUs.

With the SC23 Super Computing conference kicking off today in Denver, Intel has just lifted the embargo on a number of disclosures. Intel isn't announcing any new products for SC23 but is talking up some of their existing CPU, GPU, and AI products as well as continuing to tease their next-generation wares and highlight their wonderful open-source software work. During the Intel press briefings, Intel talked briefly on the Aurora supercomputer that is still being brought up...

While the recently released Ubuntu 23.10 is bringing some performance improvements to Intel Xeon Max / Sapphire Rapids, Ubuntu Linux still isn't delivering the best possible out-of-the-box server performance.

AMD today announced the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX Series as the company's long-awaited Threadripper update that brings up to 96 Zen 4 cores, RDIMM memory is now required for Threadripper platforms moving forward, and catering to both HEDT enthusiasts and professionals.

While Ubuntu 23.10 isn't a Long-Term Support (LTS) release, for those curious about the evolution of Ubuntu Linux performance for Intel Xeon Max (Sapphire Rapids with HBM2e) on this new release just six months out from the all-important Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, here are some benchmarks showing the dual Intel Xeon Max 9480 performance on a Supermicro X13DEM platform while comparing Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu 23.04, and the brand new Ubuntu 23.10. We've been seeing nice performance uplift on Ub...
