Private firms to import LNG by April SAPM informs ADB about progress on reforms in petroleum sector PHOTO: FILE ISLAMABAD: Private companies will be able to bring and sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to consumers of their choice by April this year, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum Nadeem Babar told a delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He said that Pakistan had fully implemented the third-party access policy in order to utilise the idle capacity of LNG terminals with the help of private companies. In this regard, the cabinet on Tuesday approved the allocation of LNG terminal and pipeline capacity on a three-month rolling basis to the private sector for LNG import and marketing.

An Oxygen Concentrator is a life-saving device used for treating patients suffering from coronavirus infection, birth asphyxia and complicated pneumonia. Recently procured Oxygen Concentrator have been shipped to seven major cities in the country including Islamabad, to be installed in public health facilities. “Our nationally coordinated efforts have indeed helped Pakistan to effectively tackle the Pandemic so far. AP/File ISLAMABAD: The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (Unicef) has handed over 220 oxygen concentrators to the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination for treating patients suffering from coronavirus, birth asphyxia and complicated pneumonia. Funded by the Asian Development Bank to the tune of $331,000, the life-saving device oxygen concentrators have been shipped to seven major cities in the country, including the federal capital, for installation in public health facilities, Unicef announced on Friday. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Director General Health Dr Rana Muhammad Safdar thanked the ADB, Unicef and all other stakeholders who have been helping the government since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.
