Dubai: The Chinese Consulate General in Dubai and a group of Chinese expatriates recently donated 11,200 iftar meals to Beit Al Khair Society, which were distributed to workers’ accommodations in Al Khawaneej.
Li Xuhang, Chinese Consul-General in Dubai, told Gulf News the donation was in response to the UAE’s Ramadan campaign.
Li added: “Poverty alleviation is a fine tradition shared by the UAE and China. Last year, China won a major victory in its fight against poverty and completely eliminated absolute poverty. The UAE also took only 50 years to build itself into a modern international metropolis and has completely bid farewell to poverty. Both China and UAE have created miracles in the history of human poverty reduction and shown the way to the world.”
