SoftBank leads $28m funding in Indonesian social commerce firm Super Super co-founding team April 29, 2021 Indonesian social commerce platform Super has raised $28 million in its Series B round, led by SoftBank Ventures Asia. The round also saw the participation of its existing investors such as Amasia, Insignia Ventures Partners, Y-Combinator Continuity Fund, and Bain Capital co-chairman and co-owner of Boston Celtics Stephen Pagliuca. Apart from this, new investors such as DST Global partners and TNB Aura also pumped in capital. The corpus raised will help the company expand its presence in East Java and other provinces later this year. Super, which deals with the FMCG sector, plans to expand its product range. Additionally, the fund will help the company develop its own white-label SuperEats.

Lob raises $50M for its direct mail platform Lob is a startup promising to help businesses deliver physical mail more quickly and affordably, and with more personalization. The company estimates that its platform has been used to deliver mail to one in two U.S. households. And today, it’s announcing that it has raised $50 million in Series C funding. CEO Leore Avidar told me he founded Lob with Harry Zhang nearly a decade ago to “allow people to send mail programmatically.” Over time, the company has become increasingly focused on enterprise clients its 8,500-plus customers include Twitter, Expedia and Booking.com although Avidar said it will always offer a product for small businesses as well.

The round was led by GV (formerly Google Ventures), with participation from Y Combinator’s Continuity Fund. Ross Intelligence files counterclaim against Thomson Reuters after announcing cease of operations Ross Intelligence, an artificial intelligence startup for the legal industry, has filed a counterclaim against Thomson Reuters as part of an ongoing legal battle between the two companies. The counterclaim was filed just days after Ross Intelligence publicly announced it is shutting down operations. In a company blog post from December 11, Ross Intelligence’s founders stated the startup’s platform will no longer be operational as of January 31. “We have not abandoned our vision for access to justice through the use of technology.
